Chris Foote, 54, of Wilton, Iowa, formerly of DeWitt, Iowa, died peacefully late Friday evening, March 28, 2025, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Christopher Lee Foote was born April 20, 1970, in Clarinda, Iowa. He was the son of Jim and Susan Foote. Chris graduated from Central DeWitt Community Schools with the class of 1988. He married Julia Hunter July 17, 1993, and this marriage was blessed with two children, Allison and Christian. They later divorced. On August 1, 2020, Chris married Tracy Meggers. The couple resided in North Las Vegas, Nevada, where Chris was employed by UPS Freight. They moved to Pueblo West, Colorado, where he was employed TForce Freight. In the Spring of 2024, Chris took a position with Raymond Corp in Muscatine.

Chris never knew a stranger. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Iowa Hawkeye Wresting. Chris also loved youth wrestling and was a big supporter of the Young Guns Wresting Club.  His kindness overflowed to all he met. Chris was always willing to help those in need and his final act of helping others was by donating tissue through Iowa Donor Network.

Family members include his wife, Tracy; children, Allison (Zach) Benson of Vernon Hills, Illinois, and their daughters, Julia and Ainsley and Christian (Fiancée, Pallavi Dadhwal) of DeWitt; step-children, Lexi (Chad) Wilson and their son, Bennett of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Remington Meggers of Wilton and MacKenzie Meggers of Cedar Rapids; his parents, Jim and Susan Foote of DeWitt; siblings, Tina (Fiancé, Kerry Wright) Foulks of Tipton, Iowa, Mike (Rachel) Foote of Shakopee, Minnesota, and Melissa (Mark) Gheer of Princeton, Iowa; father-in-law and mother-law, Larry and Carol Siems of Lees Summit, Missouri; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Terry (Lezlea) Siems of Brownsville, Tennessee,  Vicki Fenton of Center Point, Iowa, and Scott (Pam) Siems of  Lees Summit; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Chris in death were his grandparents.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt from 11:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Feel free to wear Packers or Hawkeye attire. The Rite of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Church with the Rev. C. Ronald Rafferty officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.  

Pallbearers will be Todd Eddy, Dan Barr, Lance Jorgensen, Mike Henson, Don Nevills and Jerry Shook.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials are suggested for Chris' grandchildren's college education.
